The Missing Piece in Your Thought Leadership
Without a clear POV, your message is just noise. Here’s how to fix that.
I used to think I was saying important things.
I was posting. Writing. Speaking.
But I wasn’t leading.
My words blended into the noise. I was in conversations, but I wasn’t shaping them. I was contributing, but I wasn’t making an impact.
Then, I defined my Point of View (POV).
Everything changed.
My POV became my guiding light.
It gave me clarity, direction, and the ability to lead conversations rather than just participate in them.
Before: Unclear, hesitant, lost in the noise.
After: Focused, confident, shaping the future.
And here’s the thing—every great leader has a clear POV.
The Problem with Most Thought Leadership
Most leaders think they’re building thought leadership, but they’re really just sharing updates:
"Excited to speak at [event] this week!"
"Just dropped a new podcast episode—check it out!"
"We’re hiring! Join our team at [company]."
"Honored to be recognized in [award/milestone]."
Nothing wrong with any of these. But they’re not a Point of View.
They’re information, not insight.
A strong POV does more than announce. It challenges, inspires, and shapes conversations.
The Shift: From Noise to Leadership
When I refined my POV, my content changed. Instead of just sharing updates, I started sharing perspectives.
Instead of “Excited to speak at [event],” I shared:
"Most conferences focus on X, but the real conversation we need is about Y. Here’s why..."Instead of “New podcast episode is out,” I wrote:
"We talked about [controversial insight]—and it completely reframed how I think about [topic]. Here’s my takeaway..."Instead of “We’re hiring,” I asked:
"The best people in [industry] aren’t looking for jobs—they’re looking for missions. Here’s what we’re building..."
See the difference?
A POV-driven approach doesn’t just announce—it leads.
