Why You Don’t Need Their VIP Pass to Build Your Movement
You’ve been trying to get into their world. It’s time to make yours impossible to ignore.
As long as I can remember, I used to think the goal was to get in.
In the right rooms. The right circles. The right booths.
I was convinced that the people “inside” had the real power, the influence, the connections.
And a few special times, I made it in. Someone would wave me past the rope, usher me into the VIP section.
And for a while, it felt like I’d arrived.
But I could never stay. I was always a guest. Never a host.
Somewhere along the way, I stopped waiting for my permanent pass.
Instead, I started dancing.
On the floor. In the middle of the crowd. With the music loud enough to drown out the doubt.
At first, I was alone. Then, slowly, people joined me — others who had also been waiting at the velvet rope, hoping to get in.
We realized something.
We didn’t need to be inside their booth to create magic.
Our dance floor became its own gravity.
The energy, the openness, the freedom — it pulled people in.
Now the people in the booth are looking over, wondering::
“Who TF are they? And, I want to party with them?”
And here’s the shift — this isn’t about nightlife.
It’s about life.
It’s about business.
It’s about building a movement that’s so alive people can’t help but notice.
The Future Narrator framework calls this a category pivot: when you stop playing by someone else’s rules and start creating your own arena.
Because the most powerful movements don’t wait for access.
They become the access.
Gratefully,
Edwin
P.S. If you’ve been stuck waiting for someone to open the door, maybe it’s time to start your own party. That’s how every category creator I’ve worked with began.
