Founders: Your Future POV Could Be Your Biggest Growth Lever
A simple 3-step framework founders use to shape their market, attract the right audience, and create category-defining companies.
I’ve been doing a lot of POV Clarity Calls lately.
And something keeps coming up:
Most founders have a vision…
But not a Future POV.
That’s the difference between just building a company…
And building a category.
A Future POV is your public stance on the future you’re designing, and why it matters now.
It’s not your mission statement.
It’s not a marketing tagline.
It’s the narrative you stand on when the market shifts, competitors enter, and attention gets scarce.
Category leaders nail this.
Everyone else blends into the noise.
In our POV Clarity Calls, I use three prompts to pull this out of founders.
You can use them too:
Clarify the Future You’re Designing For
Ask: “If you had unlimited resources and buy-in, what would your industry look like in 10 years?”
Skip the features and the funding round hype.
Paint the picture in plain language so anyone can see it.
Define the Shift You’re Leading
Ask: “What needs to change for that future to happen?”
This is your “why now.”
It’s the tension that makes your POV urgent and worth rallying behind.
Make It Human
Ask: “What’s a story from your journey that makes this vision real for people?”
Numbers inform.
Stories move.
And people follow leaders they feel, not just ones they understand.
Your Future POV isn’t a one-and-done exercise.
It’s a living, breathing narrative you’ll refine as you grow.
But here’s the kicker:
Once you have it, everything else gets easier—your messaging, your partnerships, your platform strategy.
Because you’re not just creating content anymore.
You’re building a movement.
Gratefully,
Edwin
